Communities Across the Country Encouraged to Give Back Through Acts of Kindness and Volunteerism
Gainesville, FL — This Monday, April 28, 2025, Florida nonprofit Serve Our State is inviting individuals, families, and groups across the nation to participate in a Nationwide Day of Service, a movement designed to inspire acts of kindness and hands-on service in communities large and small.
The Nationwide Day of Service is a chance to take action, lead with kindness, and inspire others to do the same. It’s proof that ordinary people can do extraordinary things when they come together with a shared purpose.
“This idea has been years in the making, and now is the time we need to serve our states most,” said Halle Burton, Founder of Serve Our State. “Whether you’re picking up trash in a local park or delivering meals to someone in need, April 28 is about one simple idea: showing up for each other.”
Ways to Get Involved Include:
Volunteering with local nonprofits or community organizations
Performing random acts of kindness
Donating essential items or funds to a meaningful cause
Helping a neighbor, friend, or stranger in need
Participants are encouraged to document and share their service efforts on social media using #SOSServiceDay and tagging @ServeOurState on Instagram, X, and Facebook to spread positivity and encourage others to get involved.
Serve Our State, founded in Florida with a heart for grassroots impact, believes service should be simple, accessible, and driven by community spirit. The Nationwide Day of Service is an open invitation to be a part of something bigger than ourselves—no matter where you are.
