These past couple of months have kept me quite busy! Since it snowed in Texas (crazy!), I finally have time to sit down and reflect upon my past couple projects...

Canned Food Drive
At the end of November, I hosted a canned food drive at my school. I decided to collect cans that could be donated to the San Antonio Food Bank for Thanksgiving and the upcoming holiday season. In the span of only one day, I was able to collect and donate 120 cans! This project would not have been possible without the involvement and support of my high school peers.
Blue Santa Drive

As Student Council President, I am blessed to be in charge of several very large projects within the Reagan campus. Our annual Blue Santa Drive is held during December, as we collect toys for the San Antonio Police Department. For two weeks, student council members sat outside to collect toys from the student body and distribute Blue Santa tickets accordingly (students can get extra credit in classes by turning in their tickets, thus a great incentive to donate). We ended up with a approximately 2500 donations, which were collected by the SAPD on December 14th!
Teacher Tamale Baskets

The holiday season was definitely a busy one for student council! On December 16th, we spent our class period (and after school) passing out tamale baskets to the 280+ staff members at Reagan High School. It was a tedious process to earn the funding and work with the catering company, but it all worked out in the end! I had extra fun passing out baskets in my favorite holiday onesie ;)
Bookin' It Book Fair and Drive
This is a project I will go more into detail about soon, so stay tuned! It ended up being a six month journey and was such a blessing everyday!
